David Ikegami ([email protected]) reported the following:

Elder Raymond Culver Price passed away March 6, 2010 (Saturday) about 7 pm at Kaiser Hospital in Honolulu. Elder Price has not been feeling very well for a time, but he managed to come to church faithfully, until he could not attend any more and was placed in a private care home..

We were able to visit him at emergency on Friday night with my HT companion and we went to the hospital to give him a blessing..We were quite surprised to see him not doing well.. BUT he recovered for one day and then passed away about 7 pm, Saturday night Ray Price was a very devoted member and was one of the first (five) missionaries to the Japanese Mission under Pres Edward L Clissold in 1948. His brother is H. Ted Price former president of the Tokyo North Mission who was also one of the first missionaries to that mission. He is remembered by all for his faithfulness. (This is a 1948 picture of President Clisshold and the first five missionaries. Do you recognize President Paul C. Andrus standing in the back? )

He married Katherine Takeuchi Price who was also a missionary there.  We will all miss this very faithful man. He (and Sister Price) served on missions to the Philippines Islands and to the Tokyo Temple in the 1980's.
