Editor's Note: I have read about 180 of the testimonies on the Mormon Scholars Testify site www.momonscholars.org. I get updates so that each time a new one i posted, I get it. I love them all. They haven't gone through correlation. There are occasional typos. I know there is a need for correlated materials in the Church. I love them, too. These testimonies are wonderfully diverse, disarmingly honest, and each is unique. There are 37 women who have participated if my count is correct. There at least one in French, German and Chinese. If all goes well, within a few weeks there will be one up from Japan in both languages. I have invited other scholars from Japan to participate. I hope many will.

This is an excerpt from one of the testimonies. You may wish to read it to get the rest of the story. :)

Dr. Cynthia Hallen wrote, gWhen I was nine years old, my brother Mike and I attended Sunday School at the Lutheran Service Center on Okinawa. Our teacher was an off-duty soldier who served as a layman, not as a professional pastor. One Sunday morning, he told us that unless people accept Jesus as their Savior, they canft go to heaven. I asked, gWhat if someone does not have a chance to hear about Jesus?h The teacher said, gThat is why we need to be missionaries.h I persisted with another question, gBut what if there is an old man in China, and he dies before he gets to hear about Jesus?h
